“For the Stonecrazy CD, I wrote songs about what was happening at the time, and our sound was a lot heavier. We had love (“Last Rocket to Love”), but we also had difficult relationships (“The Drama,” “Love’s Come”), and other things happened. L.A. went through the riot in ’92 and the earthquake in ’94 (“Take Another Hit”). It was a dark but hopeful time for me and the band, which was reflected in the lyrics.” — Billy Coane
